I am very excited to announce the return of Ringer. Those of us avid Buffy fans will follow SMG wherever she may go! I am no exception to this. Before I dig in to the episode, let me give you a background on where we left off.
Background: Twin sisters (Lying Game anyone?), whom are both played by the lovely and talented Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shiobban and Bridget aren't the best of friends. Shiobban lives a lush life with her husband in NYC and Bridget is a stripper/ex junkie living in Wyoming and running from the law. Bridget witnessed a murder between her drug boss and a stripper. She ran from the cops and with the help of her AA sponsor, Malcolm, she fled to the Hamptons for help from rich sis. Shiobban has her own secrets. She has been having an affair with her best friend's hubby and is pregnant with his child. She stages her own death on a boat in the Hamptons while sis is abroad. Bad sis Bridge takes her life from there and pretends to be her. (Again very lying game but older!)

Shiv's Paris boy toy Tyler thinks she is preggo with his kid, but it is really Henry's. She is going back to NY to reclaim her life possibly. Juliet was raped by her favorite teacher Mr. Carpenter. Charlie/John has killed Gemma and Shiv shot him to make it look like a suicide. Bridge is in love her sis' husband and all is right in CW land.
And so we begin....
We see Shiv stalking Bridget in the shower, creepy. We notice that Bridget now has bangs, bold move SMG. We rewind two days. Bridge and Andrew are happy as clams. They go out to dinner with a couple friend of theirs. The woman, Greer (who is the girl from the sleepwalkers movie!) brings her peonies. They have some weird tension between them as Bridge remembers that Pavoine (which she saw written on that piece of paper Charlie had) means peonies. Bridge learns that Greer is doing a benefit to raise money for public schools and Juliet's school is one of them. She offers her help.
Meanwhile, Shiv is in town and is trying to break into Andrew's office. She doesn't seem to know his passwords anymore and tries to get his analyst to help, but she doesn't know it either. She calls up Tyler and tells him she needs access. She asks him if she is talking to Tyler the loyal employee or Tyler the father of her unborn child. Low blow Shiv. He advises her to try and break into the home computer. She sneaks in and puts a flash drive in after guessing his password is Shiobban. She gets freaked out because Bridge and Andrew come home so she hides and apparently nobody sees her or the flash drive downloading all of his files. Crazy!
Shiv stalks Henry and tries to get them to meet each other. He shows up and she does not. He is really pissed at her for playing so many mind games with him. Who wouldn't be? Malcolm gets called in to help Andrew with some computer problems and Andrew ends up telling him he can have a permanent job if she wants to.
Juliet goes to school and wants to pretend like the rape never happened. She is acting super weird at home and when she learns about the benefit that will be in her living room she freaks out. Agent Machado finds out that the gun has Bridget's fingerprints all over it, but where was she. They pull up all these records on Charlie/John and see him running a red light in the Hamptons on May 8th (the day Bridget was there). He goes to the Hamptons to a local diner (could this be the ONLY diner really?) asks the waitress if she has seen them in there. She says yes, but this man was with a weirdly named woman named Shiobban. She was like "what a name like Shiobban?" haha. Good call!
Now its time for the fundraiser. Juliet is hiding in her room with her friend who she told about the rape. Her dad makes her get dressed and come outside. Bridge is there sans wedding ring. The shower scene ends with Shiv stealing her ring from the ring dish on the sink. She thinks she dropped it down the drain to save face with Andrew. She looks not so great in her bangs. Henry comes in and screams at her, saying she plays too many games. She has no idea what he is talking about and makes him leave. Greer tries to comfort her and reminds her that she had witnessed her affair with Henry and that's why they aren't close anymore. It was at the Hotel Pavoine in Boston that had peonies all over the place. She goes to google this and finds out that the Boston hotel is closed but the Paris one is open. Hello, light bulb. Room 414 is where Shiv was staying until her cash ran out and she had to slum it with Tyler, lowly analyst.
Juliet gets wasted and starts yelling to Mr. Carpenter that the woman he is talking to is too old for his taste and that he likes them younger. She is sent to her room for being drunk and Bridge has a heart to heart with her. She asks if Mr. Carpenter did anything to her and Juliet tells her she was raped. Bridge comes and says "CARPENTER" BAM. She knocks him out. That is some true Buffy style right there! You go SMG :) She tells him to leave and Andrew finds out the truth and feels like a failure for not noticing what was going on with his own daughter.
Not so much of a cliffhanger....
The real Shiv, stolen ring in hand, goes to Henry's. She tells him she loves him and she is sorry and all of this sweet stuff. He says to her that she is acting like a completely different person than the one at the party and he says "WHO ARE YOU?" I am pretty sure she lets him know the real deal and maybe they can run away together? Wouldn't that be the best for everyone involved! I mean, she is carrying his love child. And not showing just yet.
