Drop Dead Diva: Season Finale

I love how they wait till the last 5 minutes to throw this at me. Let's begin, shall we?

We start off with Jane getting ready for her wedding. She has her dress and everything and her mother (Well Jane's) shows up and wants to help, but she shoos her away. We see heaven and the real Jane sitting there just watching. She says she has to get out of there and fix her life that Deb has messed up. I love how they make her dull and boring. She gets on line and tries to protest California State law to the heaven guy and he laughs her away. An old man tells her to find Fred, he can fix it. FRED!! YAY.

We have Kim defending a country singer star played by Chelsea Kane (crossover One Tree Hill and new show Baby Daddy) who's ex-boyfriend was almost killed because of lyrics to her song (Compare Carrie Underwood much?). Kelly Osbourne guest stars as the one who admits to the crime, but she didn't really do it. We find out he cut his own breaks to make her look bad. Stacey helped to solve this case, because she is the biggest fan. Also, Luke lets it slip to Parker that he is going to be a dad to Kim's unborn child. He is happy to be there for Kim.

We also have Grayson defending his best friend Mark with Jane. Mark's wife has a brain tumor that makes her smarter. She doesn't want to remove it, because she wants to keep being smarter. The doctor behind it tells her she may live forever. When Jane goes to confront him she finds that he was using her as a specimen. She asks to take the tumor out. This is not before Jane and Grayson have a fight about him getting over Deb. He says he has moved on.

Wedding Day.....

Jane is wearing her dress and after making up with her mother, wearing her tiara. Terry and Stacey are bridesmaids and Owen is ready to marry her. She gets her train stuck on something and cannot break free. They are all waiting. Grayson goes to see what is up and helps her unstuck. She asks who Grayson has moved on with and he says her. She is shocked and surprised, they kiss and of course in walks Owen. He sees it, has a heart attack and dies on the floor. But looks like Jane upstairs pressed the return button after she talks to Fred and returns into Owen's body. Now that is creepy!!

Are they bringing back this show another season? Let's hope so!

Drop Dead Diva: Pakery Drama

The first case is Jane and esteemed lawyer Lawrence Brand (Hello crossover Nip.Tuck star!) after she punches Nancy Grace in the face. She is asked to assist him on the case about a miscarriage from a medical company. He seems to be confused and shouting out info on tobacco. He is starting to get memory loss and wont admit it. In the end, she uses a blank file as a scare tactic for them to admit it does cause miscarriages. He credits Jane on Nancy Grace live and she is happy about it. Owen is a great in your corner type of guy here.

Meanwhile, a guy is claiming he has the patent on the pake. Grayson takes this case and proves that he is a patent troll. He even copies her story. She needs to get Nicky to testify, but she wont, since she is in jail and pretending to be Stacey. She gives up her phone, but that is not good enough. Instead they have a pake off with guest judge Star Jones. She wins and the troll goes back into hiding.

Luke has been dating Kim, but lately she has been cold. We find out in the end that she is pregnant, but with whose baby? My guess is Parker's.

Drop Dead Diva: Sperm Donor

Jane is suing a promoter for letting illegal drugs into his club and causing the OD of an underage girl. Councilmen and press are all behind her. She gets a letter in the mail with a threat against Owen if she does not drop the case. Now she is scared. She refuses to tell Owen though because she doesn't want to upset his heart. They go through the case and find out the drugs were bought before hand. The girl dies and Jane finds out she died from dehydration. Why? The club owners shut off all water fountains with only option being $10 water bottles to buy. The company who owns the bottles is headed by the councilman. She puts him on the stand and they win their case, especially after she finds out the threat came from his computer about Owen.

A small side story about Owen's father. Apparently he didn't speak to him after he wanted to remarry and asked Owen to officiate. But all is good and he is invited to their wedding. Luke and Terry also want to help out Jane so they go to her catering appointment and pretend to be her. They fail miserably and then get him kicked off catering.

Kim and Grayson take on a case about a male sperm donor, who did it the old fashioned way in a turkey baster. (It's pastor Tudor!) and the new fiance wants nothing to do with him. He is also a lawyer so he gets him arrested for illegal tissue trafficking and then once off that he gets arrested for being a gay man donating sperm. Yikes. Kim does an amazing job as a lawyer and gets everyone to see that his sex orientation is nobodies business. He gets to see his kid and the girl and fiance break it off.

Drop Dead Diva: Little Deb's Dance Studio

Jane is super concerned with Owen's health. She wants to make sure he eats right, exercises and doesn't have too much stress. Deb's real mother is being sued by a parent of a child in her dance class. She opened a studio and just like when Deb was little she is pushing the girls very hard. One girl twisted her ankle and her mother is claiming that she can no longer be a star on Broadway. Jane tries to prove that it wasn't Bobbi's fault and just to settle. But apparently the insurance company has a lawyer as well. Bobbi doesn't want to settle so Parker takes over. In the case, they interview the woman from Dance Moms who bullies the kids as well. Jane finds out that the EMTs were there so quick because the same girl was skateboarding and broke her ankle then went to dance class. They drop the suit against them. A little memory lane for Deb.

In other news, Grayson's old highschool friend Fiona made a sculpture for the town. They wont pay her because it looks like a vagina. Kim second chairs. They get them to pay her with Owen as the judge. But they try to cover up her art. They get them not to do that and all is well after Terry fake protests. Grayson even kisses her. NOOOOOO.

Stacey thinks Luke likes her but meanwhile he invites Kim to the Nicky Minaj concert and not her. BOO.

Drop Dead Diva: Owen's Back

We will get to him, I promise....

Jane is having another crazy dream where we are at a funeral and Joan Rivers is there. She wakes up to realize that she needs to put Owen behind her. There is a case about a woman who's fiance died and she wants his ashes, because she still sees the ghost of him. His stepmother however was the one in his will who got everything. He did a iwill before he died saying he wants to give his mind, body and soul to her. They go to court and she may win, until her sister testifies that she is eating the ashes. She said when she eats them she can see him. Well that is because they have metal toxins in them. She faints and is brought to the hospital.

Parker and Kim fight about the way he was behind the whole sting operation of Gina. She wants some respect. He finally lets her call the minutes and she is happy. Meanwhile, Terri thinks she won a rock concert as Lady Bodacious and needs $1000 for studio time. She asks Luke to invest and he finds out it is a scam.

During the court case, Jane and Grayson find out that the toxins in the ashes were from a poisoning. It seems the stepmother poisoned him to get all the inheritance once he died. She got the ashes back and spread them, but crazy fiance saved some to eat. Jane tricks the stepmother into buying the ashes back while wired. She gets arrested for the murder of the guy.

Owen shows up and at first I think he is a ghost. He tells Jane he had a heart problem and went to the Mayo clinic for surgery. He was in a medically induced coma and had a heart attack. He is back and loves her but doesn't want to marry her so she doesn't lose him one day. She finally tells him she wants him back and re proposes. So that's it? No chance for Grayson?

Drop Dead Diva: Stanford Law Trip

Jane has been asked to visit Stanford Law, her alma mater, with Grayson. While there, she remember nothing of course, but finds out she was the first female president in the law group. Her old professor asks if she could sit in on a trial jury for a student lawyer. The case is a mother who is sewing a big company for not paying her OT. While there, we find out that the mother's child has methanol poisoning which came from the mother's breast milk. She represents her in a bigger case with the student lawyer and Grayson. The opposing council is the law professor. Apparently she has been their lawyer before in the same kind of case. Jane proves that the they knew about the harsh chemical and what it can do to the breast milk and didn't fix it, so even after trying to get a phony settlement, they win the case.

Stacy is being awarded for her pake business. Luke goes with her to pick a dress and be her date on Jane's command. At the ceremony she doesn't get to give her speech, but Luke makes he feel special.

Terry is still trying to get rid of Gina. There is a case Gina is having about a man who's van hit a guy in a wheelchair, he wants to settle. He doesn't want to go to trial because he doesn't want his ex-wife to see his assets. Terry does some digging. The wheelchair guy staged this. And the guy behind it is laundering money. She brings it to Kim's attention. After being battered by Gina, Kim bring it to Parker and they agree to get rid of her after this case.

The best part is that Jane and Grayson have to room together in a dorm. They almost kiss at this full moon in Stanford tradition. He ends up almost telling her how he feels until the cops come in. They are being closed for money laundering due to Gina. Uh oh.

In 2 weeks, Owen's back.....

Drop Dead Diva - Chloe the Crusher

Jane's mom shows up and says the girl she used to babysit for is in trouble. A girl on her swim team was murdered and they think it was her. Jane takes the trial and finds out that maybe her little sister did it. After much more investigation, we find out that the mom did. She admits to it on the stand. Even more of a twist, the mom killed the father and buried him in the backyard when he tried to leave her. Yikes! Jane stopped talking to the family years ago, because she tried to have the daughter reconcile with the father and the mother wasn't having it.

Meanwhile, Stacy and Terri are trying to find Owen. They break into his apartment to learn that he went to see an ex-girlfriend in Minnesota. They have a bonfire of all of Owen's stuff so that Jane can come to terms with the fact he is gone and not coming back.

Luke on the other hand is getting bought out of the agency by a new woman (Greer, from Ringer) and he is not happy about it. What is her story? I don't know, but I know she is after Grayson. Which is bad news for Jane.

Drop Dead Diva: Where is Owen?

Jane is gearing up for her wedding, but Owen went out of town for a few days. She meets with a widow who's husband died on a faulty oil rig. At the same time, Kim meets with the company. They both cannot represent them. Parker grants it to Jane. Kim gets a new assistant as well. Jane finds out that the deceased tried to warn them about the faulty valves. She has a witness, but he is too scared to testify. Somehow she figures out that the new assistant is a snitch and traps her. They trick the company into settling for $5mil. The widow is pregnant and wants this money for the new baby.

Parker finds out that Brandy is taking his child away to Canada. He tries to get her a job, but she denies it. He puts out a court order to keep her here. Serena Williams is her lawyer and they argue so much that Eric sees it. It keeps Parker away from him and she wins full custody. Him and Kim fight as well.

The hunt for Owen is still on. He is nowhere to be found. Terry calls to find out where he is and finds out that he has lied. Jane cries and walks into her surprise engagement party in tears. She runs right into Grayson's arms. I hope they work out!! But where is Owen and why is he MIA?

Drop Dead Diva: Jane's Engaged!

We start off with Jane and Owen having lunch. She sees guards outside the bathroom and assumes its a celeb. She goes inside to hear a woman crying. Turns out she is a woman in a forced marriage to the prince of Butan. She doesn't want to marry him, so Jane helps her flee. She has to take the case to Butan court and they are horrible. They side with the prince of course and arrest Leela. She finally gets the judge to grant her freedom and Leela is set free. When she speaks to Owen about it he says he doesn't believe in marriage and thinks its archaic.

Meanwhile Stacey's pake business is not bringing in any customers. Terry tweets that a celeb was there and it gets filled. She also tweets a fake tweet and they come to shut her down if she does that again for false advertising. Uh oh! But some girls think Terry is Sandra Oh (even though she is anotehr celeb!) and it works!

Kim and Parker are representing Eric's teacher who got fired. He made porn videos with his wife and got kicked out. We find out that the principal saw these videos months ago but didn't report them. The teacher gets his job back after Parker pulls a stunt like showing his boxers. Him and Kim celebrate and kiss. Cute!

Back at work, Leela inspired Grayson to tell Jane how he feels. But Luke is not having it AGAIN. I could kill him. He tries to interrupt Jane and Owen, but is too late. Owen proposes to her with a gorgeous ring and she says yes. Darn it Grayson!

Drop Dead Diva: The Pakery Opening

We open with a basketball game, judges vs. lawyers. Grayson seems to throw the game and let Owen win. Parker's son shows up at the firm and wants to spend more time with dad. He is in arbitration over a rat that one woman believes is the soul of a dead man. The other woman wants the rat as well. In the end, we decide to let the rat go and it goes to Parker's son. Brandy shows back up and let's Eric live with Parker for 2 weeks while she is on assignment in Canada.

Another case is a woman who committed suicide after a reality show "ugly duckling" told her she was too ugly to finish her surgery. They hire a jury person who tells Jane to tone it down, not flip her hair, or walk the runway or be a model. One of the jurors loves Kim and tells her that in the elevator. Jane tells him they cant talk, but he says something anyway. They get this on tape and the judge almost disbars them. They win the case on good faith and get $2 plus $4, but need to give their winnings to court charity to stay good with the courts. Parker is pissed.

The pakery is due to open and Stacey is behind. Terry agrees to help if she can sing opening night. She hires the electrician, painter, plumber and gets the health board approvals. Terry sings, pakery is a success. Grayson and Owen get a rematch after Jane lets them know that Grayson threw the game. Grayson beats Owen, but Owen says you may have won this but i am winning. Ouch. He kisses Jane.

Drop Dead Diva: Stacy Gets PAKED

Stacy and Nikki are in the office to get legal advice from Grayson. She is using her life savings and Nikki hers to start their pake business. Jane is still weary. Grayson runs a background check on Nikki and finds out their are warrants for her arrest and she has 3 fake aliases. She confronts her, but Stacy says its because she had been running from an abusive ex-boyfriend. Sorry Kimmy, but I don't believe you either. In the end, Nikki takes all of Stacy's money, but Jane decides to invest instead.

Kim and Parker take on a divorce case for Owen's sister Olivia. Her husband is about to get millions for a virtual assistant Eve, that Olivia thinks he is cheating on her with. They cant prove this, but find that Eve was modeled after a women who is getting money from the deal as well. But her personality doesn't match. That is modeled after Olivia and she gets half of the money in the end. Olivia also hates Jane. Why you ask? Well Jane doesn't know, because she is Deb. We find out its because the real Jane broke Olivia's besties' heart in college with another guy. They put things behind them for the good of Owen and move on.

Jane is representing old woman Rita who got fired from a Target like store. She told all the customers about the bad products. Jane tries to win on a whistle blower status, but doesn't. She then wins on the accidental death of Rita's sister Lauren because of bad brake pads sold by the store. Jane thought Lauren took over Rita's body, but learned that's not true. Luke is starting to come around, but we still miss Fred.

Drop Dead Diva: Luke Interferes

I miss Fred.

We start off with Kim going to see her dad. He is living in his former employee's Bel Air mansion. He was fired and never received his settlement so he has been living in the CEO's mansion. He has been kicked out and gone to court. It doesn't hold that he lives there. But Parker comes in last minute to save the day and they find out that the CEO has been using company funds to decorate his 6 homes. Her dad gets his settlement.

 Jane and Grayson have a case of their own. A young millionaire wants to sue his dad to go away on a trip. When they dig deeper, they find out that the boy was kidnapped 16 years ago. The dad tells them that he found the baby abandoned by his crackheaad mother and took him in after nobody claimed him. Jane gets arrested for tampering with the witness and asking her to lie. They finally win the case because they argue statue of limitations on the claiming of the boy and that all the other cops knew about him taking him. He wins and the family stays together.

Stacy is going into the PAKE (pie/cake) business with Nikki (Kim Kardashian). She wants Jane to invest but she wont without a business plan. Nikki acts like a royal witch and then Stacy and Jane make up.

Grayson has been thinking that Deb has been reincarnated into Jane after knowing they were killed at the exact same minute and say the same things. He asks her out to drinks to celebrate and tries to trick her. Luke intercepts and ruins the whole thing. Grayson plays Unchained Melody because it makes Deb cry. Jane pretends she doesn't like it, changes her drink order and then Luke texts Owen to come there. Grayson sees them together and maybe thinks he is wrong. Jane cries to the song to Owen.

Why cant they be together??!

Drop Dead Diva - Season Premiere

Welcome back to one of my favorite summer shows. Drop Dead Diva is about Deb (a model) who got killed and came back to life as heavyset lawyer Jane (who got shot the same day). She now lives in Jane's body and has a guardian angel, Fred. Deb's best friend Stacey knows the truth and Jane lives with her and Jane also works in the same law firm office as Deb's old fiance Grayson. Tough! She has been pining after Grayson, without being able to tell him the truth. Last season we ended with her going to Europe with new boyfriend, judge Owen after seeing Grayson kiss Stacey. Yikes. She also told Fred about this and he broke it off with Stacey. Double Yikes! Kim and boss Parker ended their relationship after he found out he had a son with ex-gf Brandy. And Jane's assistant (The ever funny Margaret Cho) is on her like white on rice. Let's see how things are going!

Jane is still in Italy with Owen and he wants to go home. Her assistant comes to collect her and tells her that she needs to defend a murder suspect. She flies back and doesn't speak to Stacey still. Stacey explains that Grayson kissed her and she would never do that. They make up. She goes to defend this woman but after she does, realizes that her and her husband were in it together to get out of a murder. She feels had.

Grayson has a suspicion that Jane is Deb after finding out that they both died the same day. He confronts Stacey but she wont tell. Fred comes to show them his new girlfriend and they break up, because Stacey wants him back. She realizes this after talking to juicer Nikki (Kim Kardashian). Fred finally tells Stacey the truth and breaks it off with her, he has to leave and Jane gets a new guardian angel, Luke. Parker returns and kicks Kim out of his office.

Why doesn't Grayson tell Jane how he feels? Let's hope he does soon!
