Ahh, my favorite Wednesday night drama.
The Fire and Ice invitations for Emily & Daniel's engagement have been sent out. Most people are happy to get them, except Victoria and Jack of course. Grandpa Grayson is in town and although he sides with Victoria, he ends up not being her number one fan towards the end.
Jack is bandaging himself up sans Amanda. He finds the hidden tape under his bed that says interview with Amanda Clarke. He asks buddy Nolan tech geek to find a player for him. Emily cant let him see this, so she makes Amanda come back and get it from Jack. It is a very hard scene trying to watch her tell him to go home after he is pouring his heart out for her. All he wants to do is love her. He doesn't give her the tape back. Emily then enlists Nolan to destroy it, but the machine doesn't work and Jack and Nolan watch the tape of 10 year old Amanda, scared, crying and saying that her dad is having an affair with the dark haired woman, Victoria and she will save her. But she doesn't.
Emily has her own plan, she is going to send the video that shows who Charlotte's real father is to her from Amanda Clarke. She has no moral ground of what this will do to her real sister. Sometimes, I wish she would just come clean. Amanda is now untrusting of Emily, since Jack has been leaving her voicemails and banging at her door saying he saw the tape. She runs after him, but he is already gone.
There is a photoshoot set up for engagement photos in the Grayson manner. A very clever photos of Ems and Charlotte. Charlotte is being shunned by her dad. She storms off to have lunch with Declan, invites her mother and she agrees. A very funny scene of Victoria Grayson in this dive bar. She even dresses down to be there. She asks for a wine list and Declan announces they have red or white. She asks for a Bourbon instead. I am very proud of her for making an effort. During the photoshoot, we see flashbacks of the first time Emily really met Daniel Grayson. She was in a bar with longish hair and glasses. Daniel was with some girl talking about how he wants to defy his family. She thought this was interesting and realized her target would be him, since he was most willing to see them go down.
There is also a scene with Ashley and Conrad. He calls her Victoria's little bird. He asks her what her endgame is. He knows she is too smart to be a lackey so she must be an opportunist. He tells her how Victoria lets people think they are flying, then clips their wings. Yikes. I think he hit the nail on the head. If Ash was smart, she would team up with Conrad, but she leaves the room regardless.
The dinner with Grandpa...
Emily starts regretting the package to Charlotte. She ends up snatching it before anyone can see and lies to Victoria and says its from a wedding planner. Conrad tells Charlotte he is sorry and he will always be there for her. They sit down to dinner and Jack busts right in. He starts yelling at Victoria for ruining little Amanda's life and saying how she was having an affair with David Clarke. Everyone is appalled, Daniel even tells him to leave. Jack says he saw the tape and will take Victoria down if she does not leave Amanda alone. She is actually scared about her secret getting out. He leaves and Conrad tells Charlotte the truth. He is not her biological father but will always be there for her. Daniel tries to defend his mother saying she was raped, until Conrad busts that up and Victoria doesn't deny it. This may not have been Emily's plan, but it sure sounds good right?
The cliffhanger....
Emily calls Jack to make sure he is OK. She tells him to forget Amanda. Then she calls Nolan on her way home. They talk about the night and she gets in to see someone has broken in. She drops the phone as Nolan is yelling for her. Her secret hatch was broken into, her revenge box stolen and there lies an invite with the first RSVP for her party. It has an X near will attend and the name Emily Thorne is written. She is scared and she should be.
My thoughts....
I think the real Emily Thorne has RSVPEd and is tired of these games, she is back with a vengeance and who knows what she will do. But as one recapper pointed out, they think it is Ashley. What are your thoughts?
