Grimm is really great. This episode is about the black widow spider with a twist. Played amazingly by Amy Acker (Angel and dollhouse alum!!!) who needs to feed every five years three times on young males in order to stay young and beautiful. Let's dig in.
We are at an art gallery where a young man wishes his girlfriend a good night on the phone. He is attracted to this lady in a hat and tries to pick her up. She tells him to go away but he persists and invites her over for drinks and to look at art. While there she shoots this crazy venom down his throat and then bites his abdomen and sucks the organs out. YUCK. Nick and Hank get called in and find a finger in his hand. Apparently the guy bit her before he was slayed.
They find out the print matches another set of homicides with the same MO in other states. Expensive things were also stolen from each victim. This time was a Rolex watch. Not a very crafty killer. She leaves her finger with a clear print and takes a most likely insured Rolex.
We find out that the killer is Amy Acker and she is a mom with a hubby who she does not eat. Strange right? She gives the stolen Rolex to her husband as a gift. The next day the school's principal calls in the detectives about the stolen watch. Apparently daughter spider traded it for a mountain bike. They end up arresting the father for stolen possession. Nick sees that the mom has a bandage on the same missing finger. When she takes it off, her finger is in tact sans nail polish. Spiders to regenerate you know.
Nick goes to seek help from Monroe and he tells them about these spider people and the black widow kind. He has a friend apparently who is one. He takes Nick to see her and she is like grandma size and style. She tells him she gave up that life and she is only 26 years old.
Nick also goes to confront the man who has been stalking him and Juliette. Turns out that its just some harmless mice who wanted to see the legend of the Grimm. Nick tells them to stay away and they agree. Looks like more people are on to Nick.
Nick questions the husband about the watch, after another killing went down with the same thing happening in a nearby motel. This time they can see a blonde wig and the same trench and hat. The husband is alone with Nick in the police station and Nick tells him that he is a Grimm and he better spill. Spider husband admits to knowing about the ritual killing, but that his wife loves him and he doesn't know why she doesn't eat him. They have just always loved each other.
Nick finds her before she can kill another man on a boat in the marina. She tries to get away but is netted and captured. She is thrown into jail as she starts to age without her final kill. This is how it ends.
Gripping and great! Keep it coming Grimm, I cannot wait for more.
