Nothing ordinary about Vampires

I heart the Vampire Diaries.

In this episode we get to see a bit of the past and how the originals became originals. Most is found when Ric does a little cave photo diagram and realizes the true story behind them. From what I gather, they were normal people living in a normal town (with witches of course) Esther (their mother) is a witch and wants their family to live forever after one of her sons dies. She puts a curse on them to become immortal. We find out that Nick-Klause really had another father, a werewolf in town. When daddy Mikael finds this out, we are told he kills the mother and then wants to kill Nick-Klause as well for being a bastard son of another. In reality, Nick-Klause is the one who killed his mother and Rebekkah finds this out and is horrified. She has been living this whole time (hundreds of years now) thinking that her brother was the one on her side.

As for dear old chained up, ripper detoxed Stefan, we find that his brother Damon lets him out. They actually go to a bar for some scotch and some blood. Mikael finds them and is about to rip out Damon's heart if he doesn't help to lure Nick-Klause back so daddy dearest can kill him.

It all ends with Elena in bed with Damon and we all think they really have this great chemistry (maybe because they are together in real life)

I have this feeling that Stefan will be back to be with Elena. Damon will lose out on this. I still need to know if Katherine is dead or eaten or what? We never heard from her again. I hope that Rebekkah ends up being more of a perm character (unless Pretty Little Liars needs her back as Emily's girlfriend Samara, nice crossover!) and that we end up seeing Elijah (he was always the better brother). I know that homecoming is just around the corner and I cannot wait to see what happens. The character development of this show is superb.

Gotta love hybrids, witches, vamps and originals all in one episode.
