Charity for Suburbia

This show is full of exaggerations. Which is probably why it makes it so appealing. Tessa notices that her town is wasteful. Her neighbor is watering the lawn when it is torrential downpour, her school mates are tossing out their lunches (as she takes a full apple out of the trash ew) as they chow down on breath mints. One of my more favorite lines is when Tessa says "People are stupid". Even her guidance counselor (Rex Lee - oh gosh I miss Entourage and Llyod) throws out his soup because there is rice not stars in it. I think Dahlia, although not the prettiest suburb jap there is, continues to repeat "you ate rank meat" throughout which makes me laugh every time.

Tessa decides to start a school charity (shes the red bear or so dubbed) to help students donate food to the needy (is that spelled with an i, e or Y?) and Dahlia says how people in Orlando need skin care and Clarisonic face brushes. I hardly think that people in suburbia are this dense. Orlando is not a foreign country.

George's college buddy asks him to build him a skylight in his ultra expensive, high tech bathroom where the steam shower cleans your under carriage (ew). George does this, then hops in the shower, the maid walks in and scares the bejesus out of him so he slips and cracks his tooth. This forces Noah to give him a crown which costs $2600. George is livid that his only friend would try and rip him off. You finally get to see a piece of George's past, which is what I have been craving.

Back in Suburban Hell High, Tess decides to show the kids that they don't really understand what she meant. She brings in a homeless drag queen from West 14th street (to be exact) named Gladys, who shows them that she really has nothing and she is homeless and needy (with a Y). The kids then think that Tessa is also in need of help. They begin to send her and George random items that they have lying around (snow cone maker, pedispa, lighted bocce ball set). Tessa sends all these things to Glady's street corner.

In the end, she gets a hand written, monogrammed letter from G, thanking her for everything. She sold the stuff and bought a pop up tent and offered Tessa to come stay with her anytime.

I think that the show is still quite mediocre, but at least its getting better. I like the actual message that these people have so many things, they don't really understand what it is like to have less options. When you are giving away a snow cone machine instead of canned goods, then you have too much on your plate.
