Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23: Series Premiere

Of course I gave this a chance. I even got hubs to watch it with me, to his dismay, he didn't like it as much. Let's dig in, shall we?

We start with a scene of June walking in on her new roomie and her fiance doing it on her birthday cake. Flash back one week before.

A girl named June (Dreama Walker) has a fiance back home and gets a great job in NYC and company housing, dream come true. Until she goes to work the first day and finds out that her boss was embezzling and her job is caput. She needs to find a roommate and after tons of weirdos, she settles on Chloe (Krysten Ritter) who seems normal. Turns out, she's not. Even after getting warned by the neighbor not to trust the B in apartment 23, she moves in and gives first, last and security. She finds out that her roomie eats her food, doesn't respect her privacy and overcharged her rent and spent the rest on herself.

A twist, is that Chloe is BFF with James Van Der Beek (Dawsons Creek!) as his real life persona. They used to date and now are just friends. When June's fiance shows up with his life project child, Jeremy and his hot assistant, June is very naive. Now she works in a coffee shop and Chloe finds out that her fiance has been cheating on her with his assistants and other people (after getting Jeremy drunk and he pukes). The only way to help June is for her to catch them in the act. Thus, the birthday cake scene.

June has some spunk of her own and sells all of Chloe's furniture to the nasty neighbor (who was a previous roommate) to get back at her. When Chloe begs for her grandmas ottoman, she gets it back for her and finds out that she had drugs hidden in the bottom that her and James sell together.

They go for celebratory drinks at the end, which they do NOT pay for and say "times are hard, keep moving". Excited for more? Eh. This is a big wishy washy, but hey I will take spring TV when I get em!
