We open at the diner and a girl comes in with a dog, called her "emotional companion". Max breaks it down for her that its because she cant meet guys, doesn't want to eat alone and has a printer at home. In walks Caroline's family lawyer and tells her that she needs to give him a deposition. The problem is, he doesn't work for free. Her dad took all her money and he costs $1100 an hour. Max convinces her to do a drug test that makes $500 each and she will chip in her half along with $100 from the cupcake fund. What a good friend!
At the drug trial, they have to pick someone to room with them. The girl who mutilates herself is out. They decide to go with the quiet girl who will keep to herself. The gay nurse reads off the side effects after telling them one is a placebo and one is really the drug. He says swollen tongue, relentless urination, and then he announces the name called Gladiva and says this is not his stage name, hysterical!
The girls are playing the game of life, eating their cookies and the roommate has to pee all night. She must have the real drug. They are getting ready for the deposition and Caroline is talking about what a great father hers is and how nobody cares about this. Max is too hyped up about this being just like Law and Order.
At the deposition, Caroline talks about how she knew nothing about the money scandal. During the middle her tongue swells up and she cant talk. Max has to intervene and talk about how she loves her father and how she knew nothing. The other lawyer doesn't care, but the family lawyer feels bad decides to let them take an hour recess and its on him.
At the end, Caroline thanks Max by buying her the complete season of Law and Order. Cute. Money down in the cupcake fund and nothing too exciting.
