Vamps, hybrids, werewolves, no problem. My younger brother a problem - well stated Elena. And a good way to depict this episode to come. When we last left them, Stephen stole the coffins of Klaus' loved ones. Now he is on a war path to get them back. He asks Elena to get them back and he will not hurt any of her loved ones. He wants to make a deal.
Stephen wants to hide all of the coffins and have Bonnie cast a spell to help him do so. Elena and Ric are trying to have family dinner with Jeremy, but he is too busy with his new BFF hybrid Tyler. They start to shoot crossbows together. They are all at dinner and we get the sinking feeling that Tyler is one of the bad guys. We later see a scene where is compelled to his sire Klaus to do whatever he bids him to do. He leaves dinner and Jeremy gets a strange phone call (on the other end we see Klaus making the call and saying DO IT NOW). Jeremy takes off his protection ring and stands in the middle of the street as a crazy hybrid (who has also been stalking Elena) almost runs him over. Ric steps in front of the car and gets hit and thrown to the ground. Good thing he is wearing his ring.
Back at home, Ric is not ok, he starts coughing up blood. Elena calls 911 and they come to revive him until the nasty hybrid compels them to leave. With a dying Ric there, Jeremy shoots the hybrid with an arrow and then chops off his head (go Jer!). They take Rick to the hospital. And of course, before the episode started, I saw Torrey Devitto's name in the credits. (She first started as crazy Nanny Carrie on One Tree Hill who stole Jaime, then she played crazy sister Melissa on Pretty Little Liars and she is also Stephen's wife in real life, so of course she deserves a cameo) She is the nurse who takes care of Rick. I can see a relationship budding there. She introduces her as Doctor Fell and I immediately think she is related to dead, vamp, scumbag Logan, remember him? But is she supernatural too?
Elena tells Klaus that she may not know where the coffins are, but she will give him Rebecca for the safety of her brother. He agrees and unstakes her. Elena also lets him know that Rebecca is aware that he killed their mother and she is pissed. As she starts coming back to life, he restakes her. I guess he doesn't want to deal with her knowing the truth about his evil ways with mommy original.
Stephen, although not full of humanity, has a brawl with Damon and lets him know the reason why he didn't kill Klaus was to save him. Damon realizes that big bro doesn't need to save him all the time, but deep inside is thankful for him. The coffins are being hidden in the witch house by Bonnie, but she cannot open them. There is some curse on them. I am pretty sure she will eventually open them.
I guess Jeremy is off the show. We have Damon compel him to leave Mystic Falls and start a new life elsewhere. Rick and Elena think its best for him and agree to this as everyone has tears in their eyes. Bye bye Jer, we will miss you!
And then the best part. Damon tells Elena what he knows about Stephen and tells her that he wants to make sure if Stephen is upset with him, its for a good reason and he kisses her. Everybody's heart melted and all Damon/Elena fans are dying. Will this be a new love for her? Or will Stephen get his humanity back? And where is Caroline in all of this??
